Travel to the place indicated with the red arrow. There is a gap in the ceiling where you can slip in. First release all the trapped robot parts, then head back and flip the lever and leave the way you came. Remember to use headbutt boosting with the parts you pull out. On the way back, you  can pick up a lot of speed, so you will probably lose the item you are holding. Just bash your head against items you pass by, and you will speed up even more.
